Phyllostachys nigra - Zwarte bamboe

This stunningly elegant plant is a fantastic focal point in the garden. The dark culms and rich green foliage look magnificent against a backdrop of say, a garden pool. The plant can grow to a height of 3 to 10 metres (10-30 feet) and culms attain a diameter of 1-4cm, with internodes of around 20-30cm(1 foot) in length.
