Butia archeri - Dwarf Jelly Palm
A very rare and beautiful palm from Goias, Minas Gerais, Sao Paulo, southern Brazil. This palm grows in Cerrados in open grassland. The trunks rarely reach 1 metre tall. The local grower told us that these 1-metre trunk palms were older than 40 years. Despite being rare in cultivation, it will not be inferior to others of its kind. This is because it has beautiful grey-green leaves and a nice growth habit. The leaves are bent backwards, giving it a fountain-like growth.
